Love is the Key - (Saving You From Misery)

A wee bit overlooked by even the Alternative scene... but no less relevant. Ted Cantu was lucky to catch the Charlatans UK in New York City at the Roseland Ballroom. You know of course that it was once used as a roller rink in the 50s and Gene Kelly, (the actor and dancer) used to practice there and show off.

This video comes at you with multi rapid-fire images. Its saving grace is that it is on top of a rooftop. There is a superiority about it, (as with most of their stuff) this song carries it in its bridge. They extend it.

This band has had so many set backs, (original keyboard player was killed in a car accident etc.) and yet has kept coming back. They have really emerged the Madchester scene as true champions, leaving competitive bands like Inspiral Carpets in the dust. The music is still relevant and introverted.

Thats part of its charm.
