Jekyll and Hyde Together Again - GREAT ENTERTAINMENT

"AH.... Coke Freaks.....This movie came out when everything about drugs was considered evil, funky or freaky.... Now days the more you take the better chance you have at getting elected, promoted and even reach celebrity star statis.... bling bling.. all you hopefuls"
THIS is a motion picture.
I used to groove on it in the 80s when USA had Night Flight. It was my personal passport into the crazed and dangerous. Music video was substantial then because it dared to be stupid. There is no danger in any form of entertainment that DARES TO BE HOT.....

Now days, everything is friggen hot. Girls Gone Wild is hot.... action movies are HOT, models are HOT... enough with the HOT.. on with the stupid......

We need more stupid entertainment.

What ever happened to CLASS? I am talking about BASKETCASE, Jekyll and Hyde Together Again, FrankenHooker, Reanimator, Surf Nazi's Must Die, Toxic Adventure... you know? CLASS.

Jekyll and Hyde Together Again - gem from the 80s

ERNST AND YOUNG - OH SHIT

"WELCOME TO THE SEARS
TOWER -- WELCOME TO JAIL"

"so, Ted, honestly..... off the record.... how much money YOU makin?"

This video is beyond hilarious. Its scary and horrifying but yet far from brilliant. "OH HAPPY DAY" IS the song you sing when you quit this misearble prison sentence of a job. For those of you NOT IN THE KNOW, Ernst and Young is located in the Sears Tower in Chicago..... I did a brief stint there in what was little more than a "job".

E&Y is a working excercise in human behavior. It hardly qualifies itself as a job.

Don't believe me? Fine, you don't have to believe me, just read the following responses....

Jesus Christ, I couldn't even sit through that video to the end.I gotta admit though: There's a little bit of painfully awkward cringe-humour in watching Accountants/Auditors trying to have Soul. It's like watching a quadriplegic tackle stairs.

wow, if they showed me this video in training, i would politely tell them goodbye!

Jesus, I work for them and it's enough to make me want to quit. What's even sadder is that I'm sure they could have squeezed at least another 2 mintues out of all those brilliant lyrics--why stop at 4 1/2 minutes?

This thing is a riot for a number of reasons. The "chick" in the evening gown kills me. It screams martini culture. Fat chance any of these droids will ever get a chance to check into a martini bar when you work 80 hours a week. But there is a very good chance you will able to reach alcoholic status in about 3 weeks.

The lyrics.... can we call these lyrics? What are these? A declaration of the sad, depraved and over motivated truth seekers of the "future". These angst ridden souls will find no peace until they quit this miserable cocophony of bullshit, muck and mire. Forget about self realization or reaching a higher understanding with God. While they are in service they will find no time to come up with logical conclusions of their own. Everything they are exists on two pieces of plastic. One gets you into the building, the other you use to pay your bills with, (your pass key and bank card... thats it).

There will be no peace for the years to come.

Wait, it gets better.....

Well, Pink Floyd's "Welcome to the Machine" is more fitting, but you can't 'break it down!' in that song.

Tis is nonsense ... ask ppl in EY n see whether they're really happy ! u'll shorten 10 yrs of life when u're there for 1 yr !! Sleepless nitez in e e office n SO many deadlines to meet ! Interns were no different frm e Staff there ... they do e same thing but lower pay

I hate this video. It makes my skin crawl and it makes me want to quit. How much money did they spend on this!?!

Oh... its garbage folks.
So is the pay.

The quotes make me laugh. How can anyone still stay employed with this monkey shit operation after witnessing this horrible video? But the real question is where do you find the time or money to pay for a fucking TUX when you work at the miserly E and Y?

THE MYSTERY CONTINUES THERE MYSTERIO !
its an endless loop question.

I never thought about death so much as when I worked there. I thought about my own mortality A LOT when I worked in that dungeon. I worried that I might die in my sleep, I worried about my family i would leave behind and I even had nightmares about who would finish my "work" in my deadlines if I died working for the mighty E&Y. Funny stuff.

Hey, its a funny world.
Its a Happy World

and its a HAPPY DAY !!!

A BRONX TALE - TAKING OUT THE TRASH - ONE BUM AT A TIME

"Here You Go M*ther F*ckahh !!!"

Thats probably not the most quotable line in the entire movie but its in there. I have to snigger somewhat uncontrollably when I watch this clip because it is so incredibly vile. There is a lot of cussing in this clip but its mixed into the soundtrack and your eyes dance nervously over the entire spectrum -- so you tend to MISS IT.

A Bronx Tale - go rent it.

NO no, better idea, better idea,.. go BUY IT. Pop it into your DVD player and watch it over and over again... just certain scenes may apply. Get yourself a loaf of crusty Italian bread and make a big mess of linguine and clams. Enjoy yourself.... G'head!

Its worth it.

I am disappointed that nothing of this stature has come out in the last ten years. Nothing has really toppled it. DeNiro disappeared as a director. I found his latest offerings contrived. But I found this camera work exciting, fresh and hard hitting. I liked it.

It gets away from this whole nausiating notion of ... IM RED HOT, YOUR RED HOT, LETS MAKE RED HOT LOVE !!! CRAP OF THE 2000'S. All this glitter and diva crap is non-existant in the 90's.... thank God. We didn't have much to work with in the 90's but it is apparent now in the 2000's that we have NOTHING to work with.... THE END. Every chick we see in entertainment is supposed to be "HOT" AND Every guy is supposed to be "THE IN THING". And every special effect is supposed to be, "THE BEST EVER" which is a load of shit. There are more crappy horror films on the market now that could rival the 70's and early 80's. Its enough to make the. "Incredible Melting Man" seem like, "Gone with the Wind".

But I'm getting ahead of myself here.....

In the 90's you had a struggling amount of style trying in VAIN to keep afloat. This film captures that. If you were angry in a film you could just let it out and bash someone with a trash can lid, (sort of like Sonny Corleone).

The Biker thing is RIGHTEOUS. I watch it once a week, (If I'm honest). Its easy to do because its hypnotic and its on AMC like every day this month. I must admit that I really like seeing these guys beat to peices. I like seeing their bikes beat to pieces too.... its refreshing. This whole entire movie.... well most of it.... is refreshing. I can do without the love scenes personally. But the violence thing is right on the money. MAN !!!

I like Chaz as SONNY. He may not be my favorite mob boss of all time in cinema but he is up there. I like the uptight Michael mob guy from Mean Streets and Vito Corleone from the Godfather. But what difference does it make.... this is brutal cinema. They don't take three hours to decide about "feelings" or whether or not who should go up and take the first punch like our limp movies do these days. They just walk up to the enemy and bash him with a bat.

Enough with the feelings... up with the bats.

If you can't join em' -- bash em' with a bat.

To enjoy this film to its utmost potential you need one of those plastic hats that hold two cans of beer with a straw in them. Wear one of those why don't cha..... and enjoy this thing ovah here.

I'm getting tired of rambling on and on.... Trust me, its great.

robyn hitchcock - YOU CRASH UPON A STAR

"..... ADVENTURE ROCKET SHIP !!!!"

This is like taking all the choice bits that make the Hitchcock tapestry so intriguing and then throwing them into a giant Vitamix and setting it all on high. The song still works but you got to wonder why .... I suppose it is quite convenient to churn out time and tested formula rather than create something with a little more heart.....

Still I like this tune even though its contrived. There are a lot of familiar hooks in here ripped off from other released songs. Its childish and obvious and a little overstated but as a Hitchcock song it works. I know it works WELL when i tend to play the song over and over again. Like so many of Hitch's tunes I have literally worn them out on my player from listening to them over and over again.

robyn hitchcock - ADVENTURE ROCKETSHIP

robyn hitchcock - INTO THE FEGMANIAX

".... i wonder if you dream about them too."

AH YES.. i remember the age of candles.. .. ahem....yes yes, quite quite....

This one slipped onto the frequencies quite late in the evening -- around 2 am in fact. I first glimpsed at this in the year 1986 and was transfixed to the television, (quite sure that I had discovered a secret pop sensation transmission from Planet Amazement).

This song seems to haunt ones sensibilities. I don't get the whole tribute thing to Syd Barrett. I think Barrett honestly sticks too many notes in his songs due to the fact that his heart was racing like a rabbit, (thanks to speed and LSD). I think Barrett was a creative dynamo who wasn't built to last. No doubt he was incredibly creative. Hitchcock on the other hand was just as creative but tended to draw out his inspirations through a long string of albums...... and I enjoyed his many transmissions.... even the more subdued ones.

But this song endured and penetrated itself into my inner subconscious.

ROBYN HITCHCOCK - I OFTEN DREAM OF TRAINS - MAN WITH THE LIGHTBULB HEAD

ROBYN HITCHCOCK - "look ma, no class !!!"

"I GOT INTO A FIGHT WITH A GUY OVER THESE LYRICS ONCE.... NO KIDDING, IT WAS AT THREE IN THE MORNING BACK IN THE 90'S... WHEN I THINK IT OVER I STILL GET ENRAGED ABOUT IT......"

We almost starting trading blows at eachother under a blood red moon about who had the right lyrics. I apologize for "Ben"... I wont use his real name.. actualy that is his real name but I won't use his real last name..... but this guy was a ... ( is probably...) a real asshole. Either way, this fight escalated to the point where someone was probably going to get seriously hurt out of the deal. WHEW... anyways.. this is the song.... and its a real beaut.

This came off the album.....I Often Dream of Trains... and that entire album has a dreamlike quality to it. Years after I first heard this song the entire thing is somewhat alarming. "Pretty Girls" tries to be a song..... somewhat apologetically in the middle and then it goes straight away back into the rough bit.

The ending is always alarming too because its so abrupt. Years later I ask myself what it is that I am supposed to feel. I like this song but I am not sure why. I like a lot of things that arent necessarily good for me either.

ROBYN HITCHCOCK - SOMETIMES I WISH I WAS A PRETTY GIRL....

THE SOFT BOYS - "And. then I left Myself and Now your the Lonely One "

"WHAT A MAD RUMBLE OF UTTER IRRESPONSIBILITY !!!"

The lines in this song somewhat slay me. It is a loveable romp into the absurd. It has hardly blues but it does have a bluesy feel to it. It certainly isn't jazz. But that was how it was presented to me when I was first introduced to it. Its none of the above really.... but the lyrics are interesting........

"I left myself and now you're the lonely one....." YIKES. But this is true. If you are in a position where you are completely bombarded with lights, images and sounds and new experiences there is a good chance that you will not remain the same, (un) loveable person that someone saw in you.... in fact, there is a strong likelihood that you will emerge a completely different animal in roughly as a months time.... if left unattended and allowed to go through these multiple changes as Mother Nature intended.....

Hitchcock certainly did that with his band in the Soft Boys and as a solo artist. But is part of the inner wunderkind that embodies his music. That metamorphasis is encouraging at the least.
