HOLY HIPPY BATMAN

THIS FREAKS ON A ROLL

This clip is from some cable access tv show... Here is the official description....

I have no idea what this is supposed to be, if I recall correctly this is a clip of a videotape that had been circulating in the underground tape trading scene of the early 90s, often popping up on public access cable. Apparently it's a proposal of some movie that the hippie in the video had wrote and he's looking for funding for his freak out. If anyone has ANY idea what this is and where to find more info, please comment this video.

More hippy goodness......

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS - ME AND MY FRIENDS

FROM THE ALBUM ... THE UPLIFT MOFO PARTY PLAN

This was THE KING ALBUM for many months. The reason why this was such a great album is that the Peppers weren't really a message band when this was released. They were fast, funky and silly. I admired them for that.

This was also the last album Hillel would appear.

This clip features the new line up and it was on the FUSE network.

TONY CLIFTON AND ELVIS

"tony clifton comes back atcha this time...... as a puppet"

Andy Kaufman did Elvis impersonations while the KING was still alive. Apparently Elvis actually liked the way Andy impersonated him. Andy was THE ONLY one who did imitations of him while he was alive. This was before all the exploitation.

The 70's are long dead and gone, so enjoy this classic gem from the past why don'tcha.

THE CHARLATANS UK - HAPPEN TO DIE

Classic live Charlatans - great hammond from late great Rob Collins (
more)

Try as I might I could not locate the lyrics for this song. This is the first time I heard that this song was about their keyboardest Rob Collins who died in some horrible accident.

The other thing which I found somewhat interesting is that singer Tim Burgess looks like the retard, (Leo DeCaprio) in, "Whats Eating Gilbert Grape?" He has the ability to somewhat defy age in his early clips.

The other thing about the Charlatans which is also interesting is that they're always backed up with a great beat. This incredible sound is matched up with incredibly dark lyrics at times. There are moments of great uplift and the overall effect is overpowering.

Even at their worst, they are worth looking at.

THE DAMNED - NEW ROSE ( I GOT IT GOOD -- MAN !!!!)

the DAMNED - NEW ROSE

1977 -- Promo Video. Written by Brian James. New Rose was the first single by 'The Damned.' It was released on October 22, 1976. It is considered the first punk record by many, insofar as the first song of a musical genre can be identified.

This video is great. They looked great. Nobody told these guys what to do or what to look like. Singer Dave Vanian used to dig graves for a living. When it came time to switch over from grave digger to lead singer he took on a vampire look and it was unexpected but great. This was a total switch from the whole KISS look. This black on white makeup became his signature look for years to come as the band under went multiple phases of change.

This band never needed permission to do anything.
