STUMP - THE LUXURY OF BEING DERANGED...

LIVE FROM LONDON

From London. Led by Mick Lynch (vocals) with Kev Hopper (bass), Chris Salmon (guitar) and Rob McKahey (drums). A quirky group, known mostly for the anti-American hit "Buffalo". 1986-88.

From the album, "A Fierce Pancake"
Was this song ever loved? By Anyone?

Well it was by me but I haven't heard it being talked about by too many people. It was odd. But the dancing was divine. What funky movements..... the lyrics, nonsensical which is appropriate for any pop band. The hair cuts scream 1987 -1989. THOSE WERE NECESSARY.

I particulary like how the camera is not very stationary throughout the whole video. I like how the band seems to be mismatched fashionwise. The singer is not concerned that he is somewhat of an odd ball in his ripped up T-shirt. I like his toothy grins and he seems to be oblivious whether he gains any fans or not...... Note to self, I never bothered to see if these guys ever made it to Top of the Pops. My guess is that they probably didn't.

But adore them just the same.
