Spinal Tap - Not Too Far From The Truth
"....RRRRROCK N ROLL !!!"
This is a great scene from the film, "Spinal Tap" where the band has a hard time reaching the stage. This actually happend to Emmerson Lake and Palmer according to the documentary by Rob Reiner. The band was trying to reach the stage but was actually trapped underneath it. Finally they reached the top of the staircase after finding an unlocked door.
This documentary doesn't get old and its enjoyable to watch. Which is interesting is that VW has recently featured a commercial with Nigel the guitar player. My mother commented on it -- she thought this was a legitimate rock star. She couldn't tell the difference..... I doubt my father could either. What big league advertisers have figured out is that they are looking at tapping into this Generation X market and are going for the big dollars.
Which in itself is laughable. My generation is not known for its big dollar appeal. The ones in my immediate circle are still reeling from the body blow delivered from the dot bomb movement.
In either case.... this clip speaks volumes on the lunacy of rock music.
