"ONE OF THE MOST RIVETING FILMS OF..... 1973... LOL"
Typical film buffs make this movie to be the greatest thing that ever came out of the 70's. But the only thing you must remember about the 70's is that they made great films every SINGLE YEAR. Unlike the 2000's they didn't have to rely on CG to be an "actor" to fill out the plot.
This made things somewhat intriguing.
The other thing that makes this film work on its own is that it has true vision. The camera work is dizzying at times and the plot is dizzying too. This particular scene is supposed to be spontaneous. Which makes it really work is that it is loaded with details. Deniro breathes a lot of life into this complicated lunatic character, "Johnny Boy".
